The mission of the church is to give the knowledge of salvation to the world. We aim to persuade people to become reconciled to God, accept the Gospel by believing in Jesus Christ, and thereby be saved.

First Baptist Church of Bellwood was founded in 1923 by the Forest Park Baptist Church. In 1948 the church began to grow in wonderful ways, one of them was being given the Wise Building by the Wise Family. In 1955 the church grew to its current size and has been blessed with several wonderful Pastors. Since 2015 Curtis Cobbs, Jr, has been the Pastor of our church. He has devotedly served alongside our deacons: Fred Mcgee, Marques Jefferson, and Jerry Robertson. Please don't hesitate to contact us to learn more!
Believers come in all different shapes and sizes. God doesn't discriminate, and neither does our church! We welcome you to bring your children, friends, or anyone else you know that is seeking a warm and compassionate church family.

We are a Baptist church located in Bellwood, Illinois. Our Baptist church was started in the 1920s and has been dutifully worshiping God since!
